Overview In this role, you contribute to a 100% employee-owned firm by delivering civil design for site development, including grading, drainage, utilities, and hydrology. You will be the engineer of record for smaller projects while collaborating with senior engineers on larger efforts, spanning Local, State, and Federal government work. You handle calculations, reports, drawings, and field investigations, and support construction administration through RFIs and shop-drawings reviews. You work closely with clients and cross-functional teams to advance projects from concept to construction documents. Responsibilities- Design civil systems (grading, drainage, utilities, hydrology) for site projects
- Serve as engineer of record on smaller projects; assist on larger efforts
- Prepare calculations, reports, and drawings; lead field investigations
- Support construction administration (review shop drawings, respond to RFIs)
- Manage design tasks from concept to construction documents
- Collaborate with clients, peers, and junior staff
- Communicate project progress and technical recommendations
Key requirements- 4-6 years of progressive civil/site engineering design experience
- PE license in Virginia or North Carolina, or able to obtain reciprocity within 3 months
- Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Strong written and verbal communication; team-oriented
- Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to obtain security clearance
