Overview As a Research Scientist on the Amazon Connect team, you will tackle large-scale scheduling and optimization challenges to advance a cloud-based contact center. You'll collaborate with senior technical leaders across AWS to shape a new service at an early stage, delivering scalable and resilient systems with a strong customer focus. You will address highly complex engineering problems and contribute to decisions that influence product direction and architecture. Responsibilities- Develop and analyze combinatorial optimization solutions for large-scale scheduling problems
- Collaborate with senior technical leaders across AWS to drive research and impact
- Contribute to the design and delivery of scalable, resilient systems for the next generation contact center
- Tackle high-complexity engineering and algorithmic challenges with a customer-focused mindset
- Translate research findings into product and architectural decisions
- Participate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with significant ownership and influence
Key requirements- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of quantitative field research experience
- Experience applying scientific principles to business problems and products
- Experience analyzing both experimental and observational datasets

- Knowledge of R, MATLAB, Python or similar scripting language
