Overview In this role you will provide strategic leadership for a corrugated sheet plant in the Milwaukee area, overseeing overall performance, profitability, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. You will drive short- and long-term strategies to align plant results with broader company goals and lead cross-functional teams to improve throughput, efficiency, and cost. The position offers the chance to shape operational excellence and support commercial growth in a manufacturing-focused organization. You will cultivate a high-performance culture and partner with sales to meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the manufacturing facility to meet operational, financial, safety, quality, and customer service goals
- Oversee profitability and financial performance including P&L, Budgets, capital expenditures, and cost controls
- Develop and execute short- and long-term business strategies aligned with organizational objectives
- Improve productivity, throughput, efficiency, quality, waste reduction, downtime, and cost performance
- Drive safety culture and maintain safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Lead, coach, and develop plant leadership and operations teams to create accountability and high performance
- Identify operational improvement opportunities and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with sales and commercial leadership to drive local/regional growth and align with customer needs
- Cross-functional collaboration with operations, production, sales, logistics, safety, quality, maintenance, and other functions to boost performance
- Analyze performance data and financial metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions
- Support capital planning and identify investments to enhance capacity, productivity, reliability, or profitability
- Lead organizational change and ensure understanding of business objectives across levels of the plant
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 7+ years of progressive leadership in manufacturing
- Minimum 5 years in operations/production management
- Experience in the corrugated packaging industry and corrugator operations
- Sheet plant experience preferred
- Experience managing plant financials (P&L, budgets, capital)
- Proven ability to lead large/diverse manufacturing teams
- Track record of improving safety, quality, productivity, cost, and profitability
- Strong continuous improvement knowledge and ability to drive initiatives
- Ability to develop strategic plans and translate them into measurable results
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate with commercial teams and maintain customer focus
