Overview In this role you will drive continuous improvement across assembly and manufacturing methods, partnering with Design Engineering and Operations to raise efficiency, quality, and cost performance. You will apply lean and modern manufacturing tools to implement impactful process changes and capital projects. You'll train teams in lean concepts and support design for manufacturability to scale operations. This position offers hands-on problem solving in a technically rich environment, with opportunities to influence both operations and product development.
Responsibilities- Develop, evaluate, and improve assembly methods using product design knowledge, materials, tooling, and quality standards
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods including tool fixtures, CNC analysis, and manufacturability assessments
- Act as liaison between Design Engineering and Operations
- Implement lean processes (Standard Work, SMED, 5S, VSM, Problem Solving, Kaizen, Pull Principles, Cellular Layout, FIFO)
- Mentor and train team members in lean manufacturing and quality concepts
- Lead manufacturing process improvements (flow lines, line-balancing, error-proofing, cells)
- Collaborate with planning and design on DFM and DFA
- Plan space, workflow, and equipment layout for efficiency
- Estimate production times and costs for new products and capex justification
- Provide data-driven justification for CapEx and manage project implementation
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, sales on capabilities and schedules
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Support development of new products

Key requirements- Bachelor in Engineering or equivalent with 3-5 years of related experience
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certified
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of lean principles (5S, Standard Work, line balancing, VSM)
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Team-oriented with proactive mindset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with AutoCAD or CAD/CAM for plant layouts
