Overview As a Structural Engineer in HDR's Building Engineering Services Group in Denver, you lead structural efforts across project lifecycles and collaborate with an integrated architecture/engineering team. You influence early design concepts and guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver well-coordinated, high-quality structures. Your work supports sustainable, innovative facilities-from data centers to commercial environments-while advancing HDR's market presence. This role offers impact through technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration in Colorado.
Responsibilities- Provide notable structural engineering leadership on complex projects
- Lead project roles as Project Manager, Structural Engineer, and/or Engineer-of-Record
- Coordinate structural design teams through the full project lifecycle
- Prepare specifications and production drawings for construction documents with BIM collaboration
- Conduct QC and technical reviews and guide active projects
- Mentor and coach team members in their market specialties
- Collaborate with HDR Architecture and Engineering teams on pursuits
- Contribute to scope/fee development and project interviews; support recruiting
- Represent HDR in the professional community to build the firm's reputation
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Professional engineering license recognized by the local licensing board (e.g., PE or P.Eng)
- Previous structural engineer experience
- Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and structural software (RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar)
- Experience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firms
