Overview In this role you will manage key accounting cycles for a nonprofit, including payroll uploads, benefit allocations, and month-, quarter-, and year-end closings. You will prepare and analyze journal entries, maintain schedules, and support audits to ensure accurate financial reporting. You will collaborate with the finance team and funders to monitor payments and ensure timely, compliant accounting processes. This position offers hands-on impact in supporting homeless assistance programs and organizational growth.

Responsibilities- Biweekly payroll uploads
- Monthly benefit allocations
- Quarterly 941 reconciliation
- Monthly accrual entries
- Monthly bank reconciliations (20+ accounts)
- Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, prepaid insurance, deferred rent, fixed assets and other items
- Maintain loan payable accounts
- Prepare journal entries and analyze financial information for GL
- Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Monitor funder payments/non-payments
- Assist in annual and program audits
- Related duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures
- Ability to compile and analyze financial information for GL entries
- Proven ability to meet daily and monthly deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite with advanced Excel
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Nonprofit accounting experience (a plus)
- Proficiency with accounting software systems (a plus)
