Overview In this role you lead the microbiology laboratory to safeguard product quality and regulatory compliance. You will partner with manufacturing, quality, and technical teams to drive improvements and achieve lab excellence. You mentor and develop a high-performing team while managing budgets and CAPA for microbiological non-conformities. Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the microbiology laboratory
- Oversee microbiological testing of ingredients, in-process, finished product, and environment/utility samples
- Lead CAPA for microbiological non-conformities
- Develop and monitor laboratory methods and document reviews
- Drive continuous improvement of lab efficiency and productivity
- Manage department budget and related cost improvement plans
- Serve as technical resource for the plant and liaison for other business units
- Represent microbiology in external quality and regulatory audits
- Manage site internal microbiology audit program and conduct annual internal audits
- Review global CAPAs and determine site actions
- Maintain high product quality and GMP compliance
Key requirements- Bachelor in Microbiology
- 10+ years' experience in nutrition, food, or allied industry
- 5+ years' supervisory experience
- 5+ years' working in a regulated FDA/GMP environment
