Overview

As a Field Service Engineer at HITACHI ENERGY, you will deliver on-site and remote services for power systems, including installation, maintenance, and repairs. You will tackle complex field issues, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems, and drive customer success through proactive service and collaboration. You'll work with cutting-edge technology, travel across the US and neighboring regions, and help identify improvements and new business opportunities. Responsibilities
  • Perform complex field service operations with strong technical skills
  • Deliver on-site and remote services including installation, maintenance, and repairs
  • Exceed customer expectations by understanding and anticipating needs
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and proactively prevent issues
  • Identify and resolve electrical or mechanical problems with minimal assistance
  • Develop potential sales and business opportunities through customer knowledge
  • Suggest product and process improvements to enhance operations
  • Lead field service projects and provide direction and analysis
Key requirements
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitudes
  • Trade education and experience in Industrial Mechanic and Electrical trades
  • College or university diploma/degree in a technical field (electrical or mechanical engineering) is an asset
  • Over 5 years of experience in technical field service work with power/mechanical equipment
  • Hands-on experience with substation construction, high voltage equipment, and electrical testing
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and test equipment software
  • Current driver's license valid in the US and ability to work in the US
  • Ability to travel to the US, Canada, and Mexico
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with strong communication skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
