Tax Senior Associate - Renewable Energy

Overview

In this role you help clients in the renewable energy sector navigate tax compliance and advisory needs, working within KPMG's Business Tax Services to deliver industry-focused solutions. You collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to address tax equity structures, incentives, and transactional matters, while mentoring junior staff and building strong client relationships. This position offers exposure to high-profile client work, ongoing training, and a culture that values mentorship and professional growth. Responsibilities
  • Provide federal and state income tax compliance for corporations and partnerships in renewable energy
  • Prepare and review partnership and corporate tax returns and workpapers
  • Advise on tax matters including tax equity, transferable credits, and Inflation Reduction Act-related transactions
  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to provide tax technical knowledge and practical advice
  • Manage tax teams on client engagements and mentor junior staff
  • Maintain client relationships through high-quality service and responsive support
  • Uphold integrity, professionalism, and a respectful work environment
Key requirements
  • Minimum two years of federal tax experience in public accounting, corporate, or law firm
  • Experience with partnership and/or corporate taxation
  • Bachelor's degree, J.D., LL.M. in Taxation, or MST from an accredited institution
  • Interest or experience in renewable energy tax incentives, tax equity, transferable credits, or M&A preferred
  • Familiarity with partnership allocations, basis calculations, and transactional tax concepts (a plus)
  • Strong tax research, analytical, modeling, and writing skills
