Responsibilities- Shape and drive innovation across the Biologics pipeline and strategy
- Lead development of robust, scalable upstream processes for biologics across clinical stages
- Advance process characterization and support regulatory filings for commercialization
- Improve upstream processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness through research and new technologies
- Collaborate with academia, industry, and vendors to adopt novel process technologies
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and guide project execution with senior leadership
- Plan and execute projects with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Stay current on scientific and regulatory landscape and build reputation through conference activity
- Represent BPR&D as an upstream bioprocess expert in cross-functional teams
- Supervise and develop a team of 3-5 scientists, fostering growth and collaboration
- Mentor colleagues to maximize talent development and promote inclusion and safety
Key requirements- Strong cell-culture process development expertise for biologics, including fed-batch and bioreactor scale-up
- Experience leading design, execution, analysis, and documentation of cell-culture process development
- Track record of upstream bioprocessing achievements and peer-reviewed dissemination
- Knowledge of biologics CMC development
- Ability to manage multiple objectives under tight timelines in a dynamic setting
