Overview As Lead Manufacturing Engineer for the LCCM team, you will define and optimize manufacturing processes during product development to ensure efficient, quality production. You will implement DFMs, create mBOMs, and plan routings using Solumina MES, coordinating with engineering, QA, and operations. You will drive continuous improvement and risk reduction across production flow, while guiding data management and change control. This role offers impact on defense-grade munition manufacturing and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities- Lead DFM activities during product development and define process requirements (equipment, space, tooling, capex)
- Implement production procedures to convert materials to finished goods efficiently
- Use Solumina MES to implement, track, monitor, and control manufacturing processes for quality and compliance
- Generate and maintain mBOMs and routings with accurate run times
- Identify and execute continuous improvement projects and risk reductions in production
- Plan and manage production flow using MRP, including change management and make/buy decisions
- Lead configuration and data management for tracking changes
- Define processes and production flow for assembly, integration, and test
- Coordinate production workflow for multiple projects
- Resolve technical problems and monitor job status for schedule adherence
- Collaborate with Engineering, QA, Operations, and Inventory Control
- Provide technical leadership for hardware delivery meeting customer demands
- Interface with design to remove roadblocks and disposition non-conformances
- Support drawing modification and production activities with integrated teams
- Drive RCCA activities and Lean manufacturing improvements
- Maintain proficiency with MS Office tools
- Ensure compliance with ASME Y14.5-2009 GD&T requirements
- Relocate to or reside in North Alabama area (Huntsville)
- Must be a US citizen with Final Secret Clearance
Key requirements- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering with substantial relevant experience
- 8-12 years (Bachelor) or 6-10 years (Master) of engineering experience
- Collaborative, multi-disciplinary teamwork experience
- Experience with Manufacturing, Assembly & Integration of mechanical/structural components
- CAD proficiency (Creo, AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
- GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2009) and tolerance stack-ups
- Experience leading manufacturing issue resolution
- Strong detail orientation and problem-solving
- Excellent communication and teamwork
- MS Office proficiency
- Willingness to reside in Huntsville, AL area and US citizenship with Final Secret Clearance
