Mechanical Manufacturing Quality Engineer I

Overview

In this role you drive product quality improvements by analyzing field issues, performing root-cause investigations, and coordinating cross-functional efforts with QA, R&D, SBUs, and overseas manufacturing. You'll support quality systems, contribute to continuous improvement, and communicate findings to prevent recurrence. The position involves data-driven problem solving, occasional customer-site visits, and collaboration across global teams to raise overall product reliability and customer satisfaction. This role offers hands-on impact on quality processes and product lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product, process, and customer-complaint related issues
  • Assist the quality manager in maintaining the quality management system
  • Travel to customer sites domestically and internationally to determine root causes and provide solutions
  • Collaborate with QA, R&D, SBUs and overseas manufacturing to implement improvements and monitor success
  • Utilize Six Sigma tools and continuous improvement methods to analyze data and solve problems
  • Host early warning meetings linking design, manufacturing, installation, and customer service stages
  • Provide feedback to troubleshooting guides for various products as needed
  • Collect and analyze data from databases to monitor product quality and drive improvement plans
  • Improve current work processes and assist others when necessary
Key requirements
  • 2 years quality related experience preferred
  • Experience with SAP, CRM and other ERP systems
  • Experience with troubleshooting, quality departments, and R&D collaboration
  • ASQ certification a plus
  • Experience with product testing, root cause analysis and problem-solving a plus
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturing facilities a plus
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work with diverse groups
