Supply Chain Transition Specialist

Overview

In this role you drive the transition of parts from one aerospace supplier to another, enabling cost savings through a structured, four-tollgate process. You coordinate planning, validation, and readiness activities, acting as the main liaison between internal and external stakeholders. You maintain accurate records and oversee risk and documentation during transitions, ensuring on-time, compliant manufacturing releases. You'll work with cross-functional teams to deliver smooth supplier transitions and measurable impact.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and manage RFQ package transfers between suppliers to realize cost savings
  • Lead packages through a four-tollgate project process using internal systems to prepare approvals
  • Plan future source capacity, business cases, demand forecasting, and overlap schedules
  • Serve as primary liaison between internal and external stakeholders to align on transitions
  • Maintain records of transition activities, including technical data, compliance docs, and risk assessments
  • Coordinate validation to ensure future source readiness (production capability, quality, delivery)
  • Oversee controlled introduction of parts from future source with testing, issue resolution, and readiness checks
  • Lead final approvals and project closure, ensuring risk mitigation, documentation, and system updates are completed
Key requirements
  • 3+ years in project or supply chain management with transition focus
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Strong Excel functionality and MS Office use
  • Quick learner with change management aptitude
  • Familiarity with aerospace is a plus
  • Good stakeholder management and relationship navigation
  • Remote work eligibility in the US
