Overview In this role, you will ensure the long-term reliability of deployed automated systems, diagnosing and improving equipment to sustain process efficiency. You'll work across a cross-functional team to troubleshoot, optimize, and upgrade hardware and software, contributing to system reliability and part availability. You will serve as a technical expert on complex issues and mentor technicians and engineers. This position combines hands-on problem solving with documentation and compliance to safety and quality standards. You will join a collaborative environment focused on durable, data-driven improvements.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and resolve automation failures
- Design and implement reliability improvements for software, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Lead system-level initiatives, hardware and software upgrades
- Maintain spare parts inventory for equipment
- Analyze system data to identify efficiency improvements
- Mentor Engineering and Maintenance teams in fault diagnosis
- Maintain system documentation (procedures, logs, setup records)
- Serve as technical expert for complex issues
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality requirements
- Collaborate with vendors to improve parts availability
Key requirements- 5 years of experience in manufacturing automation
- Proficiency in programming PLCs (Siemens and AB)
- Experience with Fanuc robots and servo control systems
- Hands-on experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control failures
- Strong ability to read machinery schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills in automated equipment contexts
- Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally
- C++ programming experience is a plus
