Overview In this role you will drive growth for Stantec's Industrial Water practice across the US North region and beyond, blending BD leadership with technical oversight. You'll build strategic client relationships, lead pursuits, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver innovative water solutions. The position combines seller-doer execution with project delivery, contributing to market expansion and brand leadership. You will shape opportunities with industry partners and internal experts, influencing growth and client success.

Responsibilities- Grow and strengthen industrial water client relationships via strategic account management and collaboration with PMs, Account Managers, and regional leadership
- Lead and support strategic pursuits, proposals, cross-selling, and client/market development across High-Tech, Mission Critical, Food & Beverage, Energy, Life Sciences, Chemical Manufacturing, and Mining
- Enhance market position through industry participation, thought leadership, and strategic client communication
- Provide technical leadership and/or project management across opportunities in treatment, reuse, process water, wastewater, and related infrastructure
- Operate as a seller-doer, balancing roughly 50% BD activities with project work
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and project teams, promoting accountability and a high-performing, innovative culture
- Represent Stantec in professional associations, conferences, and broader industry engagement
- Collaborate with Industrial Water Leaders, Account Managers, and Regional Growth Leaders to execute focused marketing development plans
- Evaluate client drivers, market trends, regulatory factors, and competitive intelligence to inform growth strategies and pursuit positioning
- Support go/no-go decisions, risk reviews, proposal development, pursuit budgets, and quarterly revenue forecasting
- Connect subject matter experts across regions and business lines to pursue strategic opportunities and deliver integrated solutions
- Organize and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines; proficient in verbal and written communication
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent)
- Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 15 years of related experience in industrial water, water/wastewater, process engineering, consulting, client and market development, or project delivery
- At least 10 years of direct client service management and/or business development experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
