Overview In this on-site role, you develop capital cost estimates for transportation/railroad projects and support bid and scope decisions. You'll review designs, proposals, and drawings to quantify costs while assessing risk and schedule impacts. You collaborate with contracts staff, vendors, and clients to present cost data and maintain organized project records. This position focuses on practical estimation work that informs major transportation initiatives and design development meetings. You will contribute to delivering cost-efficient, well-documented estimates that support project success.

Responsibilities- Develop capital cost estimates for transportation/railroad projects
- Review contractor proposals for various procurement types
- Review and validate change orders
- Interface with external clients in presenting capital costs
- Maintain organized project files, records and logs
- Attend project meetings as required
Key requirements- Engineering degree or equivalent
- Progressive and successful cost estimating experience in transportation projects
- Experience in Civil / Structural projects
- Proficient with MS Office
- Proficient with HCSS (HeavyBid) estimating software
- Proficient with Bluebeam
- Strong organizational skills
- Project experience with MTA-LIRR
- Willingness and ability to be on project site(s)
