Overview As a Thermal Sciences Associate in Seattle, you will tackle real-world problems spanning failure analysis, combustion, wildfire risk, and product development. You will work within a multidisciplinary Thermal Sciences Practice to analyze data, run experiments, and build models that inform risk assessments and client decisions. You'll translate complex findings into clear reports and collaborate with engineering, legal, and business teams. Responsibilities- Analyzing and distilling complex data
- Performing laboratory experiments and analytical or computational modeling
- Reviewing and understanding experiments and simulations performed by clients
- Researching and parsing data from published literature
- Conducting risk assessments
- Preparing written reports, proposals, and presentations
- Managing projects and maintaining efficiency under deadlines
- Gathering information and conveying technical conclusions to engineers, legal, business, and industry stakeholders
- Performing field inspections, investigations and experiments
Key requirements- Ph.D. in Aero-Astro, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical, Nuclear, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field with solid thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and combustion knowledge
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without immigration sponsorship
- Background in data sciences and/or electrical engineering is a plus but not required
- Strong ability to apply fundamental engineering concepts to new problems
- Hands-on experience with laboratory or field experiments in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer or combustion
- Familiarity with technical documents and equipment
