Overview As Principal Engineer, you'll lead field investigations, analysis, and design while interfacing with clients and design teams. You'll conduct forensic investigations and provide litigation support as an expert, and actively develop a book of business to grow SOCOTEC's Chicago office. This role balances technical leadership with client-focused growth in infrastructure, transportation, and geotechnical projects. You'll collaborate across disciplines in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities- conduct field investigations, analysis and design
- interact with clients and other design and construction professionals
- conduct forensic investigations and litigation support for expert witness services
- perform business development tasks and develop a book of business
- perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Key requirements- Bachelor in Civil Engineering (Master of Science preferred)
- Professional licensure/registration for Illinois
- Experience with AutoCAD and computer aided analysis/design of structures
- Experience with BIM software a plus
