Overview As a Project Engineer at Sundt, you serve as the technical information hub for the project, ensuring clarity on drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders. You work closely with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to keep projects on track. You may help supervise Field Engineers and progress through three skill steps that grow your expertise. Responsibilities- Understand and apply the project management plan (PMP) including scope, procurement, environmental, schedule, financial, quality, safety, and risk plans
- Develop and integrate procurement schedules with the CPM schedule; manage material/equipment procurement and submittals
- Understand prime contracts, subcontracts, PO agreements, and allowances; support budgeting and cost control
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation and compile close-out requirements (O&M manuals, warranties)
- Participate in concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities as needed
- Plan, develop, and supervise project team members to ensure relentless project execution
- Prepare and maintain quantity reports; coordinate meetings and maintain project logs
- Prepare and review change orders; manage change order logs and distribute updated documents; support timely cost adjustments
- Identify and mitigate potential claims and resolve realized claims promptly
Key requirements- Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and interdependencies between functional units
- Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical training and 3-4 years of similar experience
