Overview As a Senior Transmission Engineer, you will design, deploy, and monitor broadcast transmission paths for live sports, ensuring reliable delivery of video, audio, and data from venues to broadcast and digital platforms. You'll work closely with FOX Sports' Engineering and Field Operations to troubleshoot in real time and implement robust failover strategies. The role combines hands-on technical work with cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, live-event environment. Your expertise will help scale secure, low-latency transmissions across multiple transport modalities, including IP, satellite, and fiber, while advancing cloud-based and REMI workflows.
Compensation / Benefits- medical/dental/vision
- insurance
- 401(k) plan
- paid time off
- other benefits per plan documents
Responsibilities- Architect, deploy, and maintain transmission paths for live events (fiber, satellite, IP transport, bonded cellular)
- Coordinate contribution and distribution workflows between venues, broadcast centers, and cloud environments
- Provide real-time operational support for live broadcasts, including rapid troubleshooting and escalation
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and vendors to ensure seamless signal delivery
- Monitor performance, signal integrity, latency, and redundancy across all paths
- Design and implement failover and redundancy plans for high availability during events
- Support integration of cloud-based workflows and REMI models
- Maintain documentation of transmission infrastructure, signal flows, and SOPs
- Participate in on-call rotation for nights, weekends, and major events
