Overview As Structural Engineer you design and validate crane runway structures, supporting the Industrial Crane and Product Engineering team. You will perform structural calculations, assess strength and fatigue, and provide on-site troubleshooting and guidance during installation and commissioning. You'll act as a technical expert for bids and projects, helping ensure safe, code-compliant solutions that meet customer needs. This role combines engineering rigor with cross-functional collaboration to drive reliable, scalable lifting solutions.

Responsibilities- Perform structural calculations to assess stresses in crane runway structures
- Evaluate static/dynamic strength and fatigue life per industry standards for US and Canada
- Utilize RISA 3D, vendor software, KC developed tools and in-house analytics to produce runway calculations
- Validate calculations with independent methods
- Provide expert on-site support during installation, commissioning and warranty
- Assist in quotation phase by advising design options for complex projects
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
- EIT certification with plans to obtain PE license
- 3-5 years of related industry experience
- Knowledge of ASCE, IBC and seismic conditions
- Knowledge of AISC/CSA and CMAA is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and CAD programs
- Experience with electric overhead traveling (EOT) cranes is an asset
