Overview In this Engineering Leader role, you guide Platform and Infrastructure teams to deliver a scalable, reliable Candid platform for healthcare providers. You partner with leadership to shape long-term product and infrastructure strategy, balancing tradeoffs across performance, security, and developer experience. You'll drive high-impact initiatives across data pipelines, AI tooling, and disaster recovery, ensuring quality and operability at scale. Responsibilities- Lead and align multiple engineering teams (Production Infra, Developer Infra, Data Engineering) toward shared outcomes
- Own technical strategy and oversee architecture, design, and delivery to hit short- and long-term goals
- Foster growth and mentorship, defining career paths and performance development for team members
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with product, security, data privacy, and executive teams
- Hire, mentor, and retain strong engineers and managers; partner with Talent Acquisition
- Promote high technical quality, reliability, and developer satisfaction across platforms
- Make data-driven decisions to improve performance, scale, and reduce operational load
- Oversee planning, scoping, and review of major projects and initiatives
- Ensure disaster recovery, internal controls, and security considerations are embedded in designs
Key requirements- 6+ years in Software Engineering Leadership (Senior Manager or Manager of Managers)
- Proven track record leading scalable, reliable distributed systems teams (Data and Infrastructure)
- Strong technical decision-making and architecture experience
- Ability to navigate multiple directions and advocate for teams while delegating
- Experience interviewing, hiring, and mentoring product-focused engineering teams
- Clear, concise communication skills, both written and verbal
- Willingness to relocate to Denver, CO or San Francisco, CA (or reside nearby)
