Overview In this role, you will lead geotechnical investigations and analyses to support major water infrastructure programs. You'll work within HDR's Water Business Group to shape solutions for transportation and other projects, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams. You will produce technical reports, guide design implementations, and supervise teams, all while advancing HDR's inclusive, employee-owned culture. The opportunity combines technical leadership with meaningful community impact in water resource resilience.
Responsibilities- Plan and prepare geotechnical investigations or design activities affecting major company programs
- Participate in marketing efforts for internal and external clients
- Organize, conduct, and coordinate or manage geotechnical investigations for transportation and other projects
- Perform geotechnical analyses, prepare reports, and coordinate with designers to implement recommendations
- Function as Technical Specialist or Project Manager on large-scale projects as needed (PM not sole focus)
- Supervise professionals, technicians, and design teams as needed
- Perform other duties as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree
- 10 years of experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) or P.Eng license
- Experience with Microsoft Office, GIS, and CAD
- Experience with GeoStudio/Ensoft (slope stability, settlement, seepage, deep foundation) software
- Experience with Bentley geotechnical data management and visualization software (gINT/OpenGround/LeapFrog)
- Knowledge of advanced numerical modeling techniques (Finite Difference, Finite Element, Discrete Element) and commercial software (Bentley, PLAXIS, Itasca FLAC)
