Overview In this Director role, you lead data science and AI initiatives to turn data into actionable decisions and scalable insights. You will shape technical direction while staying hands-on with the team, models, and production work. You'll align AI initiatives with business goals, drive adoption across non-technical stakeholders, and champion practical, ethical AI. Responsibilities- Own the data science roadmap from statistical modeling to applied AI initiatives with real business value
- Mentor and contribute hands-on with a small team of data scientists
- Oversee robust, production-grade solutions using core cloud systems, vector databases, and agentic workflows
- Promote AI development tooling adoption and continuous improvement across technical teams
- Scale MLOps/LLMOps with data observability, governance, and ethical AI compliance
- Collaborate with BI, Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Development, and Product teams to ship MVPs fast and iterate
- Design and run rigorous experiments to test hypotheses and guide decisions
- Translate technical work into business language for executives and justify AI investments
- Define success metrics for internal tools and AI initiatives and track adoption and impact
- Document tools, workflows, and best practices to scale impact beyond projects
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging platforms to identify opportunities
Key requirements- 7+ years in data science with leadership experience
- Strong foundation in core data science
- Deep hands-on fluency in Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Vertex AI) and production models in GCP
- Proficiency deploying Gemini Enterprise Agents via Agent Engine
- Fluency in AI tools such as Claude, CoPilot and ChatGPT
- Strong Python and SQL skills and applied AI experience
