Maintenance Planner

Overview

In this role, you coordinate and optimize maintenance activities at the plant to maximize equipment efficiency and minimize downtime. You'll guide preventive maintenance, repairs, and improvements while supporting safety and environmental goals. You work with maintenance crews and contractors, ensuring ready access to manuals and drawings and contributing to budget planning for maintenance projects. This position emphasizes safety leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and keeping plant assets in peak condition. Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventive maintenance and maintenance projects
  • Provide technical assistance to maintenance crews and supervise contractors indirectly
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations and participate in safety meetings
  • Plan equipment and structural modifications to improve efficiency
  • Maintain equipment manuals, drawings, and blueprints; support MEP guidelines
  • Manage parts inventory levels with storeroom personnel; assist in budgeting for maintenance projects
  • Determine labor requirements and develop standard job plans and work history for plant equipment
  • Write and review SOPs and Job Safety Analyses; conduct safety observations and inspections
  • Lead daily and shift scheduling meetings; collaborate with mechanical supervisors
Key requirements
  • Minimum technical degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar maintenance role in cement or industrial plants
  • Proficient English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Decision-making ability and sound judgment
  • Strong organizational and multi-project management capabilities
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and blueprints
  • Knowledge of maintenance needs and government regulations (EPA, MSHA) related to maintenance
  • Ability to acquire knowledge in the area of specialty
