Fleet Sales Technical Manager 1

Overview

In this role you apply technical expertise to tailor truck configurations for managed fleet accounts and support dealers and the sales team. You will bridge customer needs with Kenworth engineering and production to drive fleet pilot builds and performance improvements. You'll create chassis models in CREO and lead cross-functional efforts to deliver capable, cost-effective fleet solutions. This position offers impact by shaping fleet specifications, pilot programs, and data-driven enhancements in a global truck business. You'll work with customers, dealers, and internal teams to advance emerging technologies and fleet optimization.

Responsibilities
  • Provide end-user and dealer-focused technical guidance on truck operation and option configurations for fleet accounts.
  • Support Fleet Sales Program Managers on technical tasks including OARs, sales engineering projects, and fleet optimization analyses.
  • Create chassis models using CREO and solve complex layouts for fleet specifications.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering and production to support fleet pilot builds.
  • Assist dealers with PremierSpec customer specifications and drive Data Book enhancements.
  • Travel to fleet customers and dealers to lead pilot reviews, product training, and quarterly business reviews.
Key requirements
  • BS degree required; BSME or BSEE highly preferred; P.E. license a plus
  • 7+ years' engineering experience in Kenworth or related truck/automotive field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service orientation
  • Mechanical and/or electrical experience and aptitude
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, or other continuous improvement methods (plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel and SQL (plus)
  • CREO experience required
  • Working knowledge of Tableau and Snowflake (preferred)
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
  • General knowledge of truck/auto systems and interactions
  • Experience leading small to moderate projects and customer-driven requests
  • Understanding of basic computer/application operation and support for existing/new processes; collaboration with Plant & IT groups
