Overview In this role you will guide digital delivery for multi-discipline projects, shaping the digital model environment and deliverables. You'll work with Project Management to implement the Digital Delivery Plan, establish server infrastructure, and support cross-team coordination from planning through construction document release. You will lead model health checks, coordinate processes, mentor colleagues, and ensure quality standards across the project lifecycle. This is a hands-on, leadership-forward position in HDR's Transportation Business Group, focused on delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Provide direction for Digital Delivery Coordinators and Specialists; manage the digital model environment and project-level deliverables
- Understand discipline interactions and how construction documents are produced
- Collaborate with Project Manager to implement the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP) and project initiation; set up server infrastructure, discipline models, and digital deliverables
- Execute digital deliverables and support production teams throughout project lifecycle
- Provide technical support and communicate deliverable schedules to the project team
- Monitor model health and coordination processes from planning to construction documents
- Autonomously execute tasks and mentor other team members
- Oversee development and maintenance of the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP)
- Oversee establishment of document management system and server infrastructure for multi-discipline projects
- Ensure appropriate software, versions, access, and training for project requirements
- Generate and maintain model setup (project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, sheets)
- Monitor and maintain company standards and model health
- Host Digital Delivery coordination meetings for quality control via Design Reviews and 3D Coordination
- Coordinate and compile project digital deliverables and exchange processes at milestones
- Project archiving at submittals and closeout
- Engage with HDR management, production staff, and clients; mentor staff; support Project Managers
- Engage with other Digital Delivery Leads for guidance and support
Key requirements- Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years digital design (BIM element authoring) and 5 years digital delivery (model management) experience
- Comprehensive understanding of all discipline relations and building systems operations
- Advanced skillset in 3D design software and document management infrastructure
- Advanced skillset in 3D Coordination tools
- Advanced skillset in Microsoft Office and communication tools
- Familiar with industry standards, discipline codes and specifications
- Familiar with basic automation and programming applications for efficiencies
- Familiar with 3D design software add-ins and supporting applications
