Director of Product Management, Developer Experience

Overview

As Director of Product Management in the Developer Experience & Observability group, you will own the strategy and roadmap for key developer products serving 15,000+ internal engineers. You'll partner with engineering and leadership to turn developers' problems into adoptable products that scale across enterprise environments. You'll lead AI-enabled tooling initiatives to reduce toil and improve SDLC workflows. This is a high-impact role with broad influence across Salesforce and a focus on trusted, data-driven developer experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Set product vision and strategy with a sequenced roadmap and investment priorities
  • Champion the developer voice through interviews, research, and telemetry; translate insights into opportunities
  • Drive AI-native developer productivity by prototyping and evaluating AI tools and workflows
  • Measure outcomes using baselines, DORA/SPACE metrics, build/test feedback, and satisfaction measures
  • Influence and collaborate at scale, balancing priorities and communicating recommendations to engineers and executives
  • Prioritize high-impact investments to maximize platform value while managing technical debt and security requirements
Key requirements
  • 6-10+ years of technical product management experience
  • Strong understanding of modern SDLC and developer workflows
  • Experience with complex environments (monoliths, monorepos, distributed microservices)
  • Hands-on AI-native approach; experience with tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or equivalents
  • Customer research and data-driven decision making
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence engineers and executives
  • Enterprise mindset focusing on security, privacy, reliability, and performance
  • Ambiguity tolerance and ability to align large, matrixed teams
