Overview You will drive human-centered redesigns to reduce clinical risk and elevate safety across the hospital and satellites. As part of the Immersive Design Systems team, you'll blend research, design thinking, and clinical insight to re-engineer workflows and train staff. You will lead enterprise initiatives with cross-functional partners, contributing to impactful, safety-focused research and education. This role offers visibility, collaboration with clinical leaders, and a chance to shape pediatric care delivery.
Responsibilities- Lead enterprise system redesigns using HF methods (usability evaluations, heuristic analysis, live clinical observations, process mapping, rapid prototyping, simulation debriefing) to prevent harm
- Co-design and deliver hospital-wide HF curricula and training programs; create engaging employee orientations
- Co-lead grant acquisition, build evaluation frameworks, and publish research to raise program profile
- Manage end-to-end projects from inception to evaluation, ensuring rigor and alignment with strategic goals
- Build and maintain partnerships with clinical leaders, staff, PFA Council, and international partners to integrate HF into clinical operations
- Monitor program performance, update curricula with new evidence, and pursue continuing education in safety science and design thinking
Key requirements- Demonstrated success applying advanced human factors methodologies, safety science, and systems simulation in high-risk environments
- Track record of leading large-scale change management initiatives across multi-site enterprises
- Deep proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis, metric development, grant writing, and scholarly publication
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to thrive in a hybrid work model in Boston
