Overview

In this role you will manage the installation and integration of critical rail and transit systems within tunnels, coordinating with contractors to align with specs, schedules and budgets. You will support comprehensive testing, commissioning and safety compliance, including NFPA-130 fire protection and life safety standards. As primary safety liaison, you will review plans, assess risks, and prepare contingency measures, while driving continuous process improvements and transformational change. You will engage senior stakeholders to align on strategic issues, contributing to the Gateway program's delivery milestones and safety culture.

Responsibilities
  • Install and integrate rail and transit systems (track, signals, traction power, communications) in tunnels
  • Coordinate with contractors to meet technical specs, schedules and budget
  • Support testing and commissioning to meet operational and safety standards
  • Ensure NFPA-130 compliance for fire protection and life safety, including emergency ventilation and suppression
  • Act as safety liaison with stakeholders to review plans, assess risk, and prepare contingency measures
  • Drive continuous process improvements and lessons learned across the program
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders (C-suite & board) on strategic matters
Key requirements
  • 15+ years of rail/transit system experience including installation, testing and commissioning
  • Extensive experience with rail transit systems on tunnel projects
  • Proficiency with NFPA-130 standards for transit systems
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale, multi-faceted projects within technical specs, schedules and budgets
  • Ability to function at a program-level technical chief role in track alignment, power distribution, and systems integration
