Overview

In this role you will shape Ameriprise's market and economic outlooks and translate complex developments into actionable insights for clients and advisors. You will collaborate with senior investment leaders to refine forecasting frameworks, models, and communications that inform asset allocation and portfolio positioning. You'll produce market perspectives and thought leadership used across retail and advisor channels. You'll leverage data-driven tools to monitor growth, inflation, policy, and cross-asset developments, delivering timely guidance with impact. This position offers a high-visibility chance to influence investment strategy in a client-focused, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop market and economic outlooks, investment themes, scenario analyses, and forward-looking perspectives with senior leaders
  • Evaluate implications of changing conditions for asset allocation, portfolio positioning, and advisor/client guidance
  • Conduct independent analysis of economic indicators, markets, earnings trends, valuations, and policy
  • Build and enhance forecasting frameworks, models, dashboards, and scenario analyses
  • Create market/economic publications and client-facing communications translating complex developments into actionable insights
  • Support market presentations, advisor/client events, and thought-leadership initiatives
  • Leverage Bloomberg, FactSet and AI-enabled tools to improve research workflows and messaging
Key requirements
  • 10+ years in investment research, portfolio management, or strategy
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • FINRA Series 7 required upon hire
  • Active State securities agent registration (S63 or S66) or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Active State IAR registration (S65 or S66) or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to explain complex topics in understandable terms
  • Strong collaboration with senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Bloomberg and/or FactSet proficiency
  • Modeling skills combining investment knowledge with quantitative tools
  • Experience with AI-enabled research tools
