Overview

In this role you will lead regulatory compliance strategies for Kraft Heinz North America, ensuring products meet federal, state, and packaging requirements while supporting innovation and market expansion. You will partner with R&D, Quality, Marketing, and Supply Chain to embed regulatory considerations into development and commercialization. You will horizon-scan regulations, translate obligations into actions, and drive continuous improvement of the regulatory framework. This role offers cross-functional impact and a chance to shape the company's regulatory posture and packaging sustainability efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Lead regulatory compliance strategies across product categories and markets, including labeling, packaging, and claims
  • Manage regulatory submissions, notifications, and agency communications
  • Support R&D and Quality in meeting federal requirements for food packaging (e.g., FDA safety for food contact substances)
  • Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to embed regulatory requirements into product development and commercialization
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for regulatory issues
  • Provide regulatory guidance during ingredient sourcing and supplier qualification
  • Lead cross-functional teams through regulatory challenges and transitions to commercialization
  • Train stakeholders on regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Monitor emerging packaging requirements and inform internal positions for regulatory actions
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field
  • Minimum 5-8 years of food regulatory experience with at least 3 years in leadership roles
  • Deep understanding of federal and state food regulations, labeling, and product claims
  • Experience with regulatory submissions and compliance program development
  • Experience working with trade organizations or government agencies for advocacy
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences and negotiate effectively
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
