Overview As Benefits Manager, you will design, implement, and oversee the bank's benefits programs to ensure competitive, compliant, and scalable solutions. You'll partner with brokers and internal teams to optimize open enrollment, enrollment accuracy, and cost efficiency while meeting regulatory requirements. You will lead benefits initiatives, report on trends, and support a best-in-class employee experience within the People Experience Team. This role offers influence over Total Rewards strategy and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced financial services environment.
Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day operations of all employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSAs, 401k, wellness, and other fringe benefits)
- Design and implement benefit strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and cost efficiency; oversee plan administration and open enrollment; coordinate with brokers
- Administer Tuition Reimbursement, Corporate Matching Gift, and United Way Contributions
- Coordinate annual Open Enrollment; manage enrollment, changes, and terminations
- Conduct benefits orientations and serve as primary communication contact for eligibility and enrollment
- Manage FMLA, Short/Long Term Disability, and Parental Leave; handle workers compensation claims and annual audits
- Analyze benefits trends, benchmark data, and lead surveys to inform strategy and design
- Manage Retirement Plan (401k) Committee; ensure ERISA/COBRA/ HIPAA/ACA compliance; Form 5500 filing
- Negotiate with providers, audit vendor invoices, and coordinate with accounting on processing
- Perform 401(k) transaction processing (enrollments, changes, loans, refunds, payroll reconciliation) and support auditors and testing
- Take initiative on cross-portfolio projects across Total Rewards and PXT
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in related fields; PHR/CEBS certification
- Minimum 8 years of benefits administration experience, preferably in banking/financial services
- Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance
- Proven ability to streamline processes and lead cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- HRIS and benefits software experience (Workday preferred)
- Strong analytical/problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
