Overview In this role you drive growth for HDR's Drinking Water Market Sector by shaping strategies across geographies, coordinating with leadership, and leading pursuit efforts. You will act as a key liaison between market sectors, regions, and client teams to win contracts and expand services. The position combines strategic planning, relationship building with clients and industry partners, and leadership in cross-functional initiatives like One Water and Value of Water. This is a chance to influence HDR's leadership in the water sector and contribute to global market expansion.
Responsibilities- Lead development and implementation of market strategies across HDR geographies
- Serve as Client Manager for key Drinking Water clients and lead pursuit strategies
- Coordinate with Market Sector Directors, Regional Business Group leaders, and marketing managers to align initiatives
- Promote HDR services across geographies and pursue cross-sector opportunities
- Represent HDR in industry associations and maintain a high-visibility market profile
- Identify investments and partnerships to maintain industry leadership
- Support staff development, recruitment, and capability growth
- Assist with project delivery oversight including Principal in Charge roles and QA/QC support
- Develop and deliver MS initiatives aligned with regional drivers
- Foster relationships with senior client leaders and industry counterparts
Key requirements- Minimum 15 years relevant industry experience
- Bachelor in Civil or Environmental Engineering; PE registration
- Proven ability to win contracts and develop effective win strategies
- Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel and engage in-person
- Experience growing programs in new or competitive markets
- Experience in writing compelling technical content from staff information
