Overview As HV Underground Transmission Engineer at Jacobs, you will design and review high-voltage cable systems for underground and subsea routes, enabling efficient long-distance power transmission. You collaborate with regional and global experts to deliver projects for renewable developers, utilities, and developers, while supporting business development and proposals. You will perform technical calculations, design reviews, and interface with other engineering teams to ensure constructible, compliant solutions. Responsibilities- Develop HV/EHV cabling system specifications and detailed designs
- Provide technical support on HV cable system engineering and design
- Prepare power cable route specifications and progress reports
- Coordinate interfaces with other engineering functions and stakeholders
- Support FAT and factory inspections, and perform design verifications
- Ensure drawings and specs contain sufficient information for construction
- Verify inspection and test plans and manage information flow to avoid delays
- Demonstrate collaboration with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors in meetings
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or related engineering; Master's preferred
- Minimum 8 years of experience in underground and/or subsea cable design/installations
- Experience with CYMCAP or similar cable design software
- Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, CIGRE standards
- Experience with major global cable OEMs
- Ability and willingness to travel within North America
