Overview In this contract IT role you will design, develop and maintain Java/J2EE applications to support scalable web solutions. You will contribute within an IT team aligned with the company's software-focused mission, applying OOAD and UML to build robust architectures. Expect work on web frameworks, SOA-based services, and CI with build tools in an Agile environment. Responsibilities- Architect and develop Java/J2EE applications
- Apply OOAD and UML design patterns
- Work with web frameworks (JSP, JQuery, Spring, Hibernate) and WAS
- Develop and consume SOA/Web Services (SOAP, WSDL)
- Leverage RAD frameworks (Vaadin, Wicket) when applicable
- Utilize Spring/Struts/Hibernate in projects
- Handle XML/JSON, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SOAP UI
- Engage in unit testing and test-driven development
- Address browser compatibility, DOM, and AJAX considerations
- Use build/release tools (Maven, Ant) and participate in Agile/Scrum environments
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams and communicate effectively to stakeholders
Key requirements- 7 to 10 years of Java J2EE experience
- OOAD design using UML and design patterns
- Strong web framework experience (JSP, JQuery, Spring, Hibernate) and WAS
- SOA/Web Services experience (SOAP, WSDL)
- Experience with RAD frameworks (Vaadin, Wicket) a plus
- Recent Spring/Struts/Hibernate projects
- Proficiency in Java, J2EE, XML, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SOAP UI
- Broad web application architecture background
- DB2 experience; general DB experience
- Unit testing and test-driven development
- Browser compatibility, DOM, AJAX; Build tools (Maven, Ant)
