Overview In this Senior Process Controls Engineer role, you will design and deploy advanced process control strategies within Cargill's Process Innovation team. You'll partner with Smart Manufacturing and plant teams to improve safety, sustainability, and efficiency across the food enterprise. You will work on high-value control projects, using data analytics and process modeling to scale improvements across sites. This role offers impact across multiple facilities and opportunities to introduce state-of-the-art controls. Responsibilities- Develop and design advanced process controls strategies for Cargill plants
- Collaborate with process simulation and manufacturing analytics teams on control strategies for new and existing processes
- Work with North American regional Smart Manufacturing teams and sites on high-value control projects
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to deliver scalable impact through process controls
- Estimate project scope, effort, and value for controls projects
- Provide process controls expertise within projects targeting yield improvement, energy efficiency, throughput, downtime reduction, product quality and cost reduction
- Identify opportunities for process improvements by analyzing production data and developing scalable control strategies
- Communicate effectively with R&D, Smart Manufacturing, plant operations, and business leaders; influence without direct authority
- Develop new capabilities in process controls and raise awareness of state-of-the-art technology within Cargill
- Enable business results from process control efforts; handle complex issues with minimal supervision

Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of processes and controls
- Minimum of four years of related work experience
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
- Experience with advanced process control and model predictive control (preferred)
- Experience with DCS systems such as DeltaV, D3, ControlLogix PlantPAx, ABB DCS (preferred)
- Experience with controls in food and beverage manufacturing (preferred)
- Experience with utility systems: boilers, cogeneration, cooling water systems (preferred)
- Proven experience working in an agile environment (preferred)
- Master's and/or PhD degree (preferred)
