Overview In this role you drive the planning and management of estimating for construction projects, shaping bid strategies and cost planning. You work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate takeoffs, pricing, and risk assessment, aligning with project goals and company objectives. You will mentor junior staff and lead pursuits, delivering high-quality estimates that support successful bid outcomes. This position offers impact across multiple projects and the opportunity to influence cost control and procurement decisions. You will collaborate with trade partners and internal operations to optimize value and schedule alignment.

Responsibilities- Lead one or more estimate/budget pursuits and support others on estimates
- Mentor estimating staff and train interns
- Diagnose errors in subcontractor estimates and review quantity take-offs
- Prepare and review quantity take-offs and material pricing
- Develop conceptual estimates and GO/NO GO decisions
- Create scope sheets for CSI divisions and manage bid-day activities
- Review plans/specs, generate VE/VM logs, and maintain bid schedule
- Set up General Conditions/Requirements with Operations and coordinate with teams
- Maintain historical costs and relationships with trade partners
- Support post-bid buyouts and prequalification of subcontractors
- Draft initial General Conditions and General Requirements
Key requirements- Minimum 3 years estimating or related experience
- DSA K-14 project experience
- Ability to read specs, drawings, and BIM models
- Strong judgement and risk assessment capabilities
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Excel, Bluebeam, Revit, Destini
- Working knowledge of current construction costs and principles
