Overview

As a Construction Manager at PulteGroup, you oversee home construction in assigned communities, ensuring on-time delivery, safety, and quality while managing the customer experience. You will supervise trade partners, coordinate schedules, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize plan quality and budget. Responsibilities
  • Oversee scheduling and supervision of daily trade partner activities and assess quality and efficiency
  • Review and modify construction drawings to resolve plan errors or conflicts
  • Evaluate and adjust project schedules and resources to meet timely completion
  • Ensure homes are completed on schedule and contract obligations and safety protocols are met; halt noncompliant work
  • Manage the customer experience throughout construction, maintaining proactive communication and resolving concerns
  • Collaborate with Community Sales to monitor performance and customer activities
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and ensure compliance with state, federal, and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan
  • Negotiate, create, and authorize field purchase orders for materials and labor
  • Inspect workmanship and product quality; authorize payments when standards are met
  • Partner with Product Development, Process Improvement, Resource Planning, and Purchasing to address plan quality, schedules, trade performance, and budget challenges
  • Verify trade partner work complies with codes and company standards; participate in trade partner recruiting
Key requirements
  • University degree or equivalent experience; typically 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to manage construction processes in a high-production environment
  • Ability to direct and manage trade performance
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Knowledge of municipal permitting and building regulations
  • Knowledge of building codes
  • Proficiency with construction-related scheduling software
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Ability to control cost overruns and manage a budget
  • Valid driver's license
