Overview In this role you will lead and refine the tax provision process and related reporting, ensuring timely, accurate filings and disclosures. You will work with finance and cross-functional partners to interpret tax law changes and optimize tax positions. The position supports audits, data quality, and process improvements to reduce risk and cost. This role offers engagement across forecasting, planning, and tax strategy within a large, multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities- Manage federal, state, and local filings and the tax provision workflow across quarterly and annual cycles
- Review junior preparers' work and ensure data ties to source documents
- Analyze and quantify impacts of current and proposed tax legislation
- Coordinate audit responses and information requests with deadlines and owners
- Identify recurring process gaps and implement targeted, measurable fixes
- Provide variance analyses on tax accounts and explain to finance partners
- Develop knowledge of industry and business to support tax planning and forecasting
- Lead workstreams for filings, provisions, and inquiries; diagnose data/process gaps and implement solutions
Key requirements- Typically requires 5 years of related experience in a large CPA firm or corporate tax department with tax provision experience
- Bachelor in a relevant field (min 4-year degree); CPA or master's degree preferred
- Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate
