You will apply space-specific standards and perform analyses to verify mechanical integrity and environmental resistance. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a mission that expands global connectivity through space-enabled networks.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical harnesses for LEO satellite systems considering mission, space, thermal, and EMC requirements
  • Define harness specifications and constraints with cross-functional teams
  • Create and manage detailed harness drawings including routing, connectors, splicing, and termination plans using CAD
  • Ensure compliance with IPC-WHMA-A-620, ECSS-E-HB-10-10 and space agency requirements
  • Conduct analyses and simulations to verify mechanical integrity, electrical performance, and environmental resistance
  • Support fabrication, assembly, and testing of harnesses with guidance for quality and adherence to specs
  • Perform in-house testing and validation (continuity, insulation resistance, signal integrity)
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source space-qualified components while managing cost and schedule
  • Document design and testing activities and participate in design reviews
  • Assist in troubleshooting harness issues during integration, testing, and in-orbit operations
  • Stay current with harness technologies and explore innovations
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical harness design for aerospace or space applications
  • Knowledge of space-rated materials and manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with thermal analysis and thermal management techniques
  • Previous work with major aerospace agencies or satellite manufacturers
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration within cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
