Overview In this Senior Accountant role within CLA's Client Accounting and Advisory Service (CAAS), you will oversee accounting for smaller clients, perform reconciliations, support month-end close, and draft financial statements. You will interact with clients and the engagement team to offer guidance and scalable GAAP-based solutions. The role includes supervising CAAS staff and contributing to internal projects and process improvements. This is a client-focused, growth-oriented position in a collaborative environment where you help shape financial operations for government clients.

Responsibilities- Manage multiple clients' books and chart of accounts
- Lead AP, cash disbursements, AR, cash receipts, and payroll processing
- Coordinate and complete reconciliations (prepaids, AR, fixed assets, accruals, etc.) and handle complex reconciliations
- Prepare and review financial statements; analyze general ledger and cashflow
- Develop process documentation and backup coverage
- Assist with quarterly/annual tasks (sales tax, Form 1099s, audit workpapers, tax workpapers)
- Participate in special projects (internal audit, due diligence, system selection)
Key requirements- 4 years of relevant accounting/finance experience
- State and local government experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree required
- Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree
