Overview In this role you will lead the design and delivery of complex utility telecommunications projects, shaping network solutions for SCADA, automation, cyber security, and smart grid initiatives. You will guide cross-functional teams, manage deliverables, and ensure QA/QC compliance to meet client needs. You'll engage with clients, prepare proposals, and drive technical excellence across design, validation, and cutover activities. This is a hands-on leadership role that operates at the intersection of engineering, project management, and client success. You will leverage your deep telecom expertise to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable systems that support critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Lead telecommunications network design using client standards or new standards
- Manage project deliverables including BOMs, wiring diagrams, network diagrams, and cutover plans
- Oversee complex assignments with advanced tools to develop new processes or methods
- Identify and resolve project issues
- Provide guidance to less experienced staff
- Support project schedule with the project manager and ensure client satisfaction and QA/QC
- Perform design quality reviews
- Develop client relationships and liaise with external contacts
- Lead proposal preparation and presentations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in electrical, computer, or related engineering from ABET-accredited program
- 7 years of utility telecommunications project or related experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to apply broad engineering knowledge and propose new approaches
