Overview As a Litigation Attorney at 7-Eleven, you will lead a high-volume portfolio of cases across the US and Canada, focusing on premises liability and general/personal injury claims. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to align litigation strategy with business objectives and risk tolerance. You will manage outside counsel and drive efficient e-discovery and governance processes to reduce risk. This role offers meaningful impact by shaping risk management for a large, consumer-facing organization.
Responsibilities- Manage a high-volume portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions
- Develop and execute litigation strategies aligned with business objectives and risk tolerance
- Direct and manage outside counsel, including case strategy, budgets, and legal spend
- Provide legal guidance to business leaders on claims, investigations, dispute resolution, and risk management
- Oversee e-discovery processes including preservation, collection, review, and production
- Analyze litigation trends and claims data to identify risks and propose proactive solutions
- Develop and enhance litigation processes, reporting, and governance practices for efficiency
- Support compliance, policy development, training, and enterprise-wide risk reduction initiatives
Key requirements- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active license to practice law
- 5+ years of litigation experience with complex or high-volume portfolios
- Strong background in premises liability, personal injury, general liability, or related areas
- Proven ability to manage outside counsel and drive favorable business outcomes
- Knowledge of litigation strategy, claims management, e-discovery, and risk mitigation
