Overview

As Senior Production Manager at Ascend's Alvin, TX plant, you will lead the production unit to safety, reliability, quality, and cost targets. You'll develop and coach the manufacturing team, drive performance through MOS and KPIs, and ensure ESSH compliance while aligning with the site's operating plan. You will shape a proactive, high-engagement culture that delivers safe, on-spec products on time and fosters continuous improvement. Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and operational leadership to run the unit safely, reliably, and efficiently within regulatory compliance
  • Develop and coach manufacturing engineers, production specialists, and shift leaders; set priorities and measure operating performance
  • Lead Unit Management Operating System (MOS) to drive performance via meetings, KPIs, and variance resolution
  • Champion improvement projects and processes aligned with business objectives
  • Ensure unit compliance with PSM and environmental regulations; conduct ESSH audits and drive corrective actions
  • Manage production rates and conditions without compromising safety or product quality
  • Contribute to annual operating plan and budget; perform unit cost analyses and drive productivity
  • Lead OEE and ISO management improvement efforts; support capital management and cross-functional site collaboration
  • Coordinate with customers and support units/departments across the site
Key requirements
  • BS in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years in manufacturing; 5+ years in a supervisory role
  • Deep knowledge of environmental safety, health policies, and Process Safety Management (PSM)
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills; excellent communication and coaching abilities
  • Ability to work in a diverse team and lead at all levels of the organization
  • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing knowledge and experience
