Overview In this Principal ESD/CAD Engineer role, you will oversee CAD flow development and ESD design methodology to ensure efficient, compliant design processes and robust ESD protection. You will lead CAD and ESD teams, set guidelines, and drive the adoption of advanced tools and IPs to boost productivity and quality. You will collaborate across engineering and project management to define scope, timelines, and deliverables while maintaining alignment with industry standards. Responsibilities- Oversee CAD flow development and ESD design methodology
- Lead and manage CAD project teams and staff
- Implement internal/external tools including design automation, modeling, characterization, and IP releases
- Ensure quality control and regulatory compliance of CAD outputs
- Establish ESD design guidelines and integrate ESD considerations from concept
- Review designs for ESD compliance and recommend mitigations
- Conduct design-level ESD analyses and simulations
- Provide training on ESD-safe design principles
- Stay current with industry standards and internal processes
- Evaluate and implement new CAD/ESD technologies to optimize productivity
- Report on ESD compliance and propose process improvements
- Manage performance reviews and delegate assignments for CAD/ESD teams
- Integrate new technologies into existing workflows
Key requirements- MS in Engineering or similar
- 12+ years of ESD and CAD experience
- 3+ years of management experience
- Advanced proficiency in multiple CAD platforms (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys Primetime, Ansys Seascape/Redhawk/Totem PathFinder, Verilog, Calibre)
- Strong knowledge of CAD software capabilities, design principles, and industry standards
- Proficiency in scripting (Perl, Python)
- ESD fundamentals and safety procedures
- Familiarity with ESD analysis tools, simulations, and standards
- Experience with file management, version control, and data management for CAD
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
