Overview In this role, you drive shelf performance by turning data into actionable merchandising strategies for national retailers. You will lead a team to optimize planograms, assortment, and space productivity, collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver measurable results. You'll blend analytics with shopper insights to influence retailer discussions and elevate category execution. Responsibilities- Lead a team of space planning analysts and set priorities
- Oversee space management initiatives across National Large Format and Control State retailers
- Lead category captaincies and strategic retailer engagements aligned to Sazerac priorities
- Build relationships with retail partners and internal stakeholders to influence decisions using data
- Translate shopper insights and syndicated data into shelf and merchandising recommendations
- Develop strategies to optimize assortment, share of shelf, adjacencies, shopper flow, and space productivity
- Evaluate planogram effectiveness and identify optimization opportunities
- Lead planogram development, optimization, and reset projects from strategy through execution
- Manage data integrity, planogram libraries, imagery, and customer/category guidelines compliance
- Establish best practices to increase efficiency and scalability
- Partner with Category Leadership Team to execute space management initiatives
- Deliver persuasive reporting and presentations to stakeholders
- Lead retailer discussions with fact-based shelving recommendations and insights
- Articulate insights to identify opportunities and drive measurable results for strategic accounts
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in business, analytics, or related field
- 5-7 years in space management, space planning, category management, merchandising, or retail analytics
- 2+ years in consumer-packaged goods, beverage alcohol, or retail industry experience
- Experience leading projects and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Advanced knowledge of space planning tools (e.g., JDA/Blue Yonder, Shelf IQ)
- Experience with Circana, NielsenIQ, and other syndicated data sources
- Strong Excel and Power BI, Tableau (or similar) skills
- Strong project management, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to translate data into actionable merchandising recommendations
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
