Overview In this role you will lead the Operations Management Support function to shape strategy, governance, and performance across Bus Operations and Maintenance. You will oversee multiple support areas, including contractor oversight, analytics, QA, training, service monitoring, and performance management, ensuring accountability and enterprise reporting. You'll partner with executive leadership and external providers to drive continuous improvement and alignment with CapMetro's strategic plan. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership role that shapes how we deliver safe, reliable transit services.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic direction and long-range objectives for Operations Management Support aligned with agency priorities
- Develop budgets, resource plans, and workforce strategies for the department
- Coach and develop senior leaders, support succession planning and talent management
- Oversee contractor management, QA, analytics, training, service monitoring, mobility support, and performance management
- Lead contractor performance management, contract administration, and compliance programs
- Establish KPI governance, reporting standards, and performance measurement frameworks
- Drive cross-functional initiatives with Operations, Vehicle Maintenance, Planning, Finance, Safety, Procurement, IT, Customer Experience, and providers
- Lead continuous improvement through analysis, benchmarking, technology, and process redesign
- Support SMS processes and adhere to safety policies
Key requirements- Twelve (12) years of progressively responsible experience in transit operations oversight, contract administration, performance management, analytics, or related transit management functions
- Eight (8) years of supervisory experience in a public transportation environment
- Experience leading multiple functional areas, contractor oversight, strategic planning, performance management, and budget administration
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, operational performance management, QA, and compliance monitoring
- Knowledge of fixed route operations, purchased transportation, contractor oversight, and KPI frameworks
