Overview

As Production Manager you will lead site production to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. You'll develop teams to drive corporate improvement and operational excellence. The role steers lean initiatives, root-cause problem solving, and capital improvements to elevate performance. You'll partner across functions to sustain high delivery and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost targets through direct leadership and delegation
  • Ensure adherence to behavior-based safety initiatives and improve safety performance
  • Execute quality control plans to meet standards and drive variation reduction
  • Assess delivery performance, identify root causes of variance, and implement corrective actions
  • Manage labor, overtime, and expenditures to control costs
  • Determine weekly staffing and redeploy resources as priorities shift
  • Analyze production reports to find root causes of budget variance and implement corrective actions
  • Apply Lean principles to improve productivity, reduce lead times, and meet customer quality requirements
  • Recommend and initiate cost-reduction programs centered on capital improvements with favorable ROI
  • Promote and participate in kaizen activities and sustain results
  • Lead daily Gemba walks using hour-by-hour boards and War Room tools
  • Coordinate staffing levels with HR and ensure HR policies are applied
  • Coach and mentor team members for ongoing development
  • Stay informed on new methods, equipment, and tools to improve efficiency
  • Research and recommend capital equipment purchases
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Hands-on leader with high integrity and strong business acumen
  • Continuous improvement mindset and change management experience
  • Degree in Engineering/Industrial Technology/Business or equivalent leadership experience (10+ years)
  • Minimum 7 years in Operations and/or Lean Management
  • Printing industry experience preferred
  • Proven change agent in transformational activities
  • Strong problem-solving skills with structured methodologies for root cause analysis
