Senior Field Service Engineer (Onsite)

Overview

As Senior Field Service Engineer you will diagnose and resolve engine-related issues for PW2000, PW4000, and GP7000 fleets, ensuring safety and reliability. You will work with airline customers, MROs, and internal teams to drive timely technical solutions and enhance customer satisfaction. The role combines on-site field support with technical data creation and close collaboration with engineering and service teams. You will travel and engage with customers at conferences and meetings, shaping service strategies and fleet performance. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position at RTX with a clear impact on engine availability and service quality.

Responsibilities
  • Triage urgent and AOG requests and coordinate rapid technical solutions with global stakeholders
  • Provide on-wing and off-wing troubleshooting guidance and interpret engine manuals
  • Collaborate with CIPT Engineering to develop field service plans and hardware changes
  • Participate in airline meetings, technical conferences, and other customer engagements
  • Develop technical data and documentation supporting maintenance activities (EA, instructions, AMM/EM/MPG/CIR)
  • Coordinate with ASE, FMP, and other teams to ensure accurate engine inspection data
  • Provide technical support to PSCV and airframer teams on modifications and maintenance
  • Assist customer engineers and FSRs in resolving on-site technical challenges and support after-hours issues
  • Travel 5% domestically and internationally for meetings and investigations
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5 years of related experience, or advanced degree with 3 years
  • Jet engine knowledge and hardware understanding (disks, airfoils, seals, cases, systems)
  • Experience supporting commercial aircraft, airline operations, or MRO environments
  • Experience with aircraft/engine troubleshooting or field service support
  • Experience working directly with customers in a technical engineering setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication for clear customer guidance
